Biotica has recently joined the Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation (ELITE) Program following the invitation placed by the organizer Center for Disease Control (CDC) based in Atlanta, USA.

This invitation enables a collaboration between the company and the American Center for the introduction of immunomagnetic techniques in the CDC-led exercises as well as research on biological materials for rapid trials on Legionella.

This microorganism has an increasing interest in the USA due to the outbreaks happened in recent years and the growing importance of this infectious disease in the USA. The use of rapid techniques, complementary to the conventional culture method, opens the possibility of reducing the impact of outbreaks on the exposed population by the early identification of potential risk sources.
