The ParaClaims Workshop was held in Reus on December 4th, 2013. The CTNS, AINS and AFEPADI Association showed how they can help many businesses in their developments and projects related to healthy effects and regulatory aspects of food products (foods for particular nutritional uses, medicinal products for traditional use, medical foods, sports nutrition, botanicals, or dietary supplements).

In the first part of the workshop, the Technology Centre and the Cluster of Nutrition and Health presented their lines of activity and expertise, and AFEPADI outlined different scenarios in the short, medium and long term regarding the legislative framework. After a visit to the facilities of CTNS and COS - Centre Omics Science, the companies Bioibérica and Plameca presented their experience and together with the other speakers and representatives from over 30 companies attending the Workshop discussed the pros and cons of the different approaches in the development of ingredients, functional foods, dietary supplements and other food products.

The event was jointly organized by the Technological Centre of Nutrition and Health (CTNS), the Innovative Business Association in Nutrition and Health (AINS) and the Association of Dietary and Nutritional Supplements (AFEPADI), with the help of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism within the program to support SMEs through Innovative Business Groups.
