New online software for the reseach of Acute Coronary Syndrome

Coresoft Clínico has launched an innovative app in the field of medical records. CoreSca is a Software as a Service (Saas) which has been specifically built to register the cases of Acute Coronary Syndrome.

CoreSca provides the international scientific community with a powerful tool to measure and evaluate in a quicker and more efficient way the medical records about Acute Coronary Syndrome. Nowadays, this cardiovascular syndrome represents the most prevalent cause of death in the developed countries.

Furthermore, its software infrastructure in the cloud allows greater online accessibility to the databases and allows saving the maintenance costs. As an additional advantage, CoreSca is a multilingual tool; that means it makes automatic translations in different languages.

The Acute Coronary Syndrome is the most common cause of the coronary heart diseases. The Spanish Society of Cardiology calculates that the Acute Coronary Syndrome affects more than 115.000 people in Spain every year. The implementation of medical records about this disease has allowed setting up point estimates of diagnosis and its temporary evolution. One of the first desktop software to pick up medical records about this pathology was designed in 1999 by Coresoft Clínico. It covered more than 150.000 medical records from 216 hospitals in Spain, Argentina and Paraguay. It was the largest database in Europe and the second one in the world, after the US medical record (National Registry Myocardial Infarction) with more than one million of medical records.

CoreSca has been cofinanced by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). It may be used by the health professionals from the prehospital system (112, 061 or medical centres), as well as the hospital system (emergency rooms, intensive care units or cardiology units). By clicking these users can deliver complete reports, graphics and maps from the selected databases according to specific dates, geographic areas or other general options (sex, age, risk scales…) about this disease. The aims of this software is to improve the use of the information about these patients, help to produce more scientific papers about this pathology and, finally, serve as a reference to make clinical and political decisions regarding the Acute Coronary Syndrome
