As the scientist I am, I have always considered myself as a curious person with the need to question my environment and learn more about the unknown.

Going a little bit deeper into my personal experience, I spent 15 years in the same school. I began when I was 3 and finished with 18, and during all these years I was in contact with the same people, living in the same city, sharing pretty close interests. At that time, I did not realise that most of us had become, inevitably, a little close-minded. Once I finished school, I decided I was interested in health field, so I began Human Biology degree at university, where I met people from different places, mostly from Spain. This was at the same time surprising and stimulating, since they shared with me their opinions and life experiences, which turned out to be quite different from mine.

Nevertheless, it was not until I had the opportunity to start working in Microptic, that I realised how enriching it can be to be surrounded by people from different areas of expertise (and ages!). Thanks to working right next to my colleagues from Marketing, Sales and Development departments, among others, and being in an open space office, I have picked up wide knowledge and I feel that I have also grown as a person.

It is always a challenge to get out of the “comfort zone” and learn new skills that may not be related to our studies. But, at the same time, and specially nowadays that we live in a very fast-changing environment, we can say that any new learning can be useful.

Microptic and professional background combination

As some of you may know, Microptic team is composed of a combination of different profiles, each of them specialised in their field with the purpose of giving their best.

Starting with Eduard Sànchez, our CEO, encouraging and understanding, always taking care of the team and running the company, as he has been working in Microptic for more than 18 years.

Senior professor Gerhard van der Horst, wise and supportive, carrying out support with scientific part no matter in which country he happens to be and always stimulating our minds.

Financial Department, kind and generous, in charge of the administration and accounting part of the company.

Development & Customer care Department, taking part of software development and customer support, willing to listen to customer suggestions and comments, making possible all software improvements and performing system installations. My description for them would be smart, hard-working and hilarious.

Sales Department, extroverted and cheerful, always in touch with customers and distributors, performing follow-up of each case, processing all the sales and attending congresses and SCA demos.

Marketing & Communication Department, original and methodical, responsible for the communication and dissemination of the company, making possible to reach more people every day.

Quality Department, disciplined and versatile, encompassing areas of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, making sure that the company accomplishes the required regulations in each country where our products are sold.

Logistics Department, friendly and effective, dealing with the incoming and outcoming orders and watching over that all of them could arrive in time.

Last but not least, Research & Training Department, in which I am included, enthusiastic and helpful, in charge of research and testing part of Microptic, providing customers with trainings and scientific support.

Each of us specialised in our area, but always working as a team, in constant interaction to keep being the leader in CASA systems and semen analysis.
