The MCS group obtains the renewal of the TECNIO certification

The MCS group (Medicinal Chemistry & Synthesis), from the Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC), has obtained the renewal of the TECNIO certification. This certification is granted by the Government of Catalonia, through ACCIÓ(Agència per a la Competitivitat de l’Empresa), and identifies expert research groups and centers with differential technologies involved in applied research in Catalonia. It will be effective until the 31st December 2023.

The group, under the direction of Dr. Amadeu Llebaria, is formed by the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry (MedChemLab) and the Service of Synthesis of High Added-value Molecules (SIMChem), and focuses on chemical research to generate knowledge and therapeutic technologies, which combine the improvement and optimization of molecules of existing drugs and the definition of new therapeutic approaches.

The certification will allow the MCS group to promote the transfer of its technology to industry to help companies create new products, processes and services.
