It has been granted in the United States (US) a patent which is being developed at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología of CSIC (CNB-CSIC) by the former group of researchers led Juan Pablo Albar.

The patent was granted in Europe in 2013. Proteobotics, a spin off of the CSIC headed by Antonio Ramos, has a development contract with an option to license this patent.

The patent is a method to integrate data from mass spectrometry which greatly increases the performance in identifying peptides and proteins.
