IQS TECH TRANSFER is the division of IQS that manages the university's R+D+I and tech transfer activities by providing solutions to business needs. Based on solid scientific-technical knowledge and using the most advanced techniques, IQS Tech Transfer promotes technological change through research, technological development and industrial innovation.

We rely on multidisciplinary research groups formed by professors, researchers and highly qualified technical personnel. We feature facilities, laboratories and specialised scientific equipment in different technological fields. All this allows us to work in different quality environments, offering analysis, consultancy and research project services.

IQS also features a Bioprocess Pilot Plant, located in the Process Transfer and Integrative Technology Centre (CTPTI), and offers companies comprehensive solutions and complete R+D+I services in biotechnology processes.

IQS Tech Transfer provides added value based on the experience and scientific and technical skills of its teaching and research staff. The use of its facilities, capacity for research and innovation, experience and personal and technological capacity of IQS represent the ideal environment to develop unique solutions not found anywhere else on the market.

Through IQS Tech Transfer, we manage technical assistance, R+D+I, and Knowledge and Tech Transfer services, helping to enhance competitive and spur technological innovation among businesses.

The Bioprocess Pilot Plant features the infrastructure and bioprocess equipment for optimisation projects, process scaling, and contract bioproduct or biomass batch production (CMO). Our services feature cultivating batch and fed-batch microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, mushrooms) in aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Class 1 organisms (non-pathogenic). The plant allows for downstream operations for the first stage of isolating bioproducts.

Services:

  1. Bioprocess Viability Study: Transfer of a bioprocess to a 10 L bioreactor.
  2. Production of a Bioproduct batch. Production based on the strain and previously developed process by the client. Transfer of the process to a 10 L bioreactor. Production in 100 L bioreactor and downstream processes.
  3. Bioprocess Development: Optimisation of the culture medium, fermentation strategy and downstream processes. Production of reference batches.
