The Mind the Byte team in Barcelona is now working at the company's new facilities at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). Mind the Byte, founded in 2011 by Dr Alfons Nonell-Canals, has expanded its offices at the PCB to 114 m2 in order to meet demand from company growth. Since 2015, the company has also had an office at the Copenhagen Bio Science Park (COBIS).

"The PCB environment, with more than 2,000 professionals and nearly 100 companies, research centres and benchmark organisations in the health and life sciences, is excellent for our activity. It puts us in a great position within the sector not only in Barcelona but also internationally," explains Nonell-Canals.

The Mind the Byte team is currently made up of ten engineers, biotechnologists and biologists working to develop and market latest-generation software through the company's pay-per-use SaaS (Software as a Service) platform "the first of its kind on the market" and customised computational chemistry services for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, institutions and research groups around the world that are committed to cutting the cost of drug discovery and speeding time-to-market. One of their aims this year is to "bolster the sales team both in Barcelona and Copenhagen".

Last June, the Board of Directors presented their ambitious expansion plan through 2020 to the company's shareholders. Mind the Byte expects to post revenue for 2016 of 100,000 euros and 400,000 euros for 2017. Over the years, the company has received support from ACCIÓ and Copenhagen Capacity.
