The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center (CCMIJU) is a multidisciplinary institution dedicated to healthcare research, innovation, and training, specializing in translational research and technologies applied to minimally invasive surgery and medicine. In addition to serving as a CRO for “in vivo” preclinical studies, the center promotes the training of healthcare professionals through advanced training programs and collaborations with hospitals and companies in the sector, leveraging state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology integrated into the ICTS NANBIOSIS.
The CCMIJU team is made up of multidisciplinary professionals specializing in biomedical sciences, experimental surgery, engineering, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, health technologies, and R&D&I project management. The institution brings together researchers, technicians, and specialists with extensive national and international experience in translational research, technological development, and advanced healthcare training.
The CCMIJU conducts biomedical research, preclinical validation, theoretical and practical training, and technology transfer for the biotech and healthcare sector. Its main areas of focus include minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy, microsurgery, bioengineering, surgical robotics, cell therapy, assisted reproduction, anesthesiology, pharmacology, and medical device development. Additionally, it serves as a CRO specializing in “in vivo” preclinical studies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as healthcare technology manufacturers.
The CCMIJU’s key differentiator lies in its ability to integrate research, technology validation, specialized training, and translation to the clinical setting within a single ecosystem. Its combination of advanced infrastructure, expertise in translational research, and international collaboration enables the accelerated development and evaluation of new biomedical technologies, medical devices, and innovative surgical procedures. The center is also a European leader in surgical training and health-related experimentation.
The CCMIJU collaborates with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare technology companies, as well as with hospitals, universities, research centers, government agencies, and national and international scientific organizations. Its services are specifically designed for entities that require support in applied research, preclinical validation, advanced training, medical device development, and the transfer of innovation to the clinical setting.
