On 29th September, in commemoration of the World Heart Day, the PhotoHeart project website has been released.

PhotoHeart is a project funded by La Caixa Foundation, led by Amadeu Llebaria, from the Medicinal Chemistry and Synthesis group, and in collaboration with the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute and the John Hopkins University.

This project aims to provide early and localized treatment at the time of reperfusion therapy, a common treatment after a heart attack, in which the block coronary artery is reopening to restore the blood flow. After the surgery, many survivors end up with large infarct areas and the objective is to reduce cardiac tissue damage, thus boosting patient recovery and minimizing future cardiac conditions.
