Tebubio today announced a strategic partnership with BlueWhale Bio, a biotechnology company co-founded by cell therapy pioneer Carl June, MD, to expand access to BlueWhale Bio's innovative T-cell manufacturing technology across Europe. Through this collaboration, European researchers and cell therapy developers will gain local access to Synecta™ Cell-Derived Nanoparticles (CDNPs), supported by Tebubio's scientific expertise and application specialists, helping accelerate the development of next-generation cell and gene therapies.
The Synecta™ platform is a next-generation T-cell activation platform that enables the production of high-quality engineered T cells while simplifying manufacturing workflows. Compatible with virtually all cell engineering approaches, including viral and non-viral gene editing, it helps researchers improve manufacturing efficiency without compromising biological performance. Synecta™ CDNPs are supported by clinical-trial manufacturing use, an FDA-accepted Drug Master File and an FDA Advanced Manufacturing Technology designation.
Through the partnership, Tebubio will provide researchers across Europe with local access to Synecta™ products and expert scientific support for applications spanning CAR-T, TCR-T, gene editing, and next-generation engineered immune cell therapies.
Donald van Dijk, CEO of Tebubio, said:
"As cell therapies continue to evolve, innovation in manufacturing is becoming just as important as innovation in the therapies themselves. We are delighted to partner with BlueWhale Bio to bring Synecta™ to researchers across Europe, combining breakthrough technology with Tebubio's local scientific expertise to help accelerate the development of next-generation cell therapies.”
Peter Keller, CEO of BlueWhale Bio, added:
”Tebubio brings deep expertise in cell therapy and a strong understanding of the needs of European researchers. We are pleased to partner with their team to expand access to our platform across Europe. Our T cell activation and expansion product Synecta™ T1 was designed to meet that need by helping developers reduce complexity, shorten workflows and support the production of more persistent engineered immune cells.”
About BlueWhale Bio
BlueWhale Bio accelerates the adoption of cell-based therapies by modernizing cell manufacturing. The company is developing a portfolio of critical materials that enable higher-performing cell therapies to reach more patients faster and at lower cost. Its first product, Synecta™ T1, mimics natural T-cell stimulation by delivering membrane-bound signals, cytokines, and adhesion molecules that enhance T-cell receptor engagement during cell therapy manufacturing.
