Researchers from CRAG participate in the EURoot project (Enhancing resource Uptake from Roots under stress in cereal crops). The EURoot objective is to enhance the cereal plant capability to acquire water and nutrients through their roots and maintain growth and performance under stress conditions.

The project is funded by the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7-KBBE-2011-5). It is a joint initiative, involving 20 partners from nine countries of the European Union, the USA, Japan and Australia. The four-year project (2012-2015) is coordinated by the Centre de Coopération International en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD) at Montpellier (Coordinator, Dr. E. Guiderdoni). Drs. Blanca San Segundo and Lidia Campos Soriano from CRAG collaborate in this initiative by providing the experience on mycorrhization of plants.
