Parc Taulí celebrated the closing ceremony of the 7th edition of BRING_IT, the innovation program organized by the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT), with the support of the platform ITEMS for promote innovation projects in health and biomedicine among its associated units.

Over the course of almost three months —since February 5— the 36 participants in this edition have covered a training itinerary structured in 10 sessions which has addressed key aspects such as intellectual protection, regulation, competitor analysis or definition of the value propositionAn edition that, in addition, stood out for its territorial diversity, with teams from Madrid, Tenerife and Valladolid, and for a growing involvement in both participation and attendance.

Despite the high level of all the projects, the jury awarded first prize to PriorityCare, a project developed by a multidisciplinary team from the Madrid Hospital Foundation that proposes transform the emergency room waiting room into an intelligent early detection system. Its proposal focuses on a new technological solution that allows patients to provide information about their health status before being treated, facilitating an initial assessment and improving the organization of healthcare. This initiative helps to streamline processes, optimize resources and reduce pressure on healthcare systems.

"Participating in this program has been a very enriching experience: the strategic vision, collaborative approach and close support have allowed us to transform our idea into a project with real potential for impact on the health of our patients", he highlights. María Jesús González Hernández, medical director at Fundación Hospitalarias Madrid and member of the team of PriorityCare.

This support is, precisely, one of the pillars of the program. As pointed out Martin Leon, head of the I3PT innovation unit, “understanding that innovation is a complex process, and that it is not limited to a single dimension, is key when developing a project”. In this sense, he highlights the importance of “characterizing projects well and establishing the bases to identify the resources necessary to develop the product and move towards its valorization and transfer”.
