Next Sunday 16 October arrives the second Chopin Marathon for the research in multiple chemical sensitivity, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia in the Vall D'hebron Research Institute (VHIR). The concert will take place at the Auditorio Axa Illa Diagonal in Barcelona and tickets are on sale in Ticketea from 15 euros.
This second edition will feature 26 recognized Catalan pianists performing nocturnes, preludes, waltzes and mazurkas of the composer: Adrià Bravo, Akiko Nomoto, Albert Guinovart, Àlex Martos, Àlex Ramírez, Alfredo Armero, Ángela Luque, Arnau Balcells, Carlos Braojos, Carles Marigó, Cristina Casale, Daniel Blanch, Duo Vela, Elena Sancho, Isabel Fèlix, Jean-François Dichamp, Jordi Badia, Jordi Masó, Kiev Portella, Laia Masramon, Laura Pérez de Tudela, Mario Miralles, Raimon Garriga, Víctor Braojos y Xavier Ricarte.
In VHIR these diseases are investigated by doctors José Alegre and Jesús Castro, of the Systemic Diseases group. Their scientific specialty is the chronic fatigue syndrome, a condition that determines an important intellectual and physical limitation in the patient, and represents a recognized cause of incapacity for work in adulthood and failure at school in adolescence. There are other associated co-morbid phenomena that coexist with this syndrome, fibromyalgia and multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome, worsening even more physical and intellectual functionality, the prognosis and the quality of life of the patients.
With the piano concert on Sunday, October 16, researchers aim to raise funds for the research of these emerging medical processes. The first edition was a total success, so don't you miss this second opportunity!
