Obesity is not only a weight issue — it is a metabolic and liver disease driver.

In people living with obesity (BMI >30 kg/m²) and type 2 diabetes, the risk of developing MASLD and advanced liver fibrosis increases dramatically, often without symptoms.

At the same time, obesity already represents a massive clinical and economic burden:

According to the Fundación Weber / Lilly report, the cost of obesity in Spain exceeds €130 billion per year, with projected savings of up to €84 billion by 2030 if effective weight and metabolic management strategies are implemented.

Scientifically, a peer-reviewed study published in United European Gastroenterology Journal demonstrated that a one-step, non-invasive metabolomics-based approach can accurately identify MASLD and liver fibrosis in high-risk populations:
