The new generation of Pectus Up is introduced at the Fifth International Joint meeting on Thoracic Surgery

Ventura Medical Technologies introduces the new Pectus Up Surgery Kit model this fall in Barcelona.

The Fifth International Joint Meeting on Thoracic Surgery is held in the emblematic Gothic Quarter of Barcelona from November 16 to 19 of this year, promoted by the great acceptance and success of the four previous editions.

Doctors Laureano Molins, José Belda Snchís and Ramón Rami-Porta, heads of the Thoracic Surgery Service of the Hospital Universitari Clínic and the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, and also of the Hospital Universitari Mútua de Terrassa, are the co-presidents of this international meeting.

The event consists of several oral and video presentations covering different areas of thoracic surgery, with breakfast and lunch seminars specifically dedicated to the relevant fields of thoracic surgery, as well as papers exhibited in poster format and video presentations.

In this edition, Ventura Medical Technologies presents the new generation of the Pectus Up, an extrathoracic implant for the surgical treatment of Pectus Excavatum, developed in 2012 and which, nine years later, presents a new model that allows offering the same therapeutic solution, but expanding the age range of patients candidates for treatment, as well as the degree of asymmetry of their Pectus Excavatum.

The presentation, entitled New Pectus Up: extrathoracic technique for Pectus Excavatum treatment, is given by Dr. Manuel López Paredes, head of the Pediatric Surgery service, on Wednesday, November 17 at 08:30. Likewise, the next day there is a Lunch session in conference room 2 where a theoretical-practical workshop is held on the new Pectus Up model.

This technique represents a great advance in the surgical treatment of Pectus Excavatum since it is, today, the most innovative, least invasive, less complex technique and with the shortest recovery time among all the surgical correction options of this pathology. This is supported by the first surgeries performed in Spain and in Europe, which have obtained a great acceptance among surgeons and great satisfaction among patients.
