Thanks to its research in the area of biotechnology, Neol has developed the platform MicroBiOil® able to produce oils for industrial use from the processing of organic waste as well as industrial waste contributing so to the improvement of the environment.

The production of these oils is made by its microorganism in property named Neoleum™, which has been selected and improved by Neol thus obtaining a most productive oil production source as others formerly known (via oil seed crops such as palm, soy, rapeseed and sunflower).

Obtained oils are highly versatile and their composition makes them ideal raw material for the production of biofuels such as biodiesel and biokerosene or for other industrial application such as biolubricants, surfactants …

Neoleum™ presents a significant advantage as it is extremely productive; with a one cubic meter bioreactor it is obtained the same oil as in one hectare of oil palm. This translates into environmental, economic and social benefits, in that food resources are not used for the production of energy and waste is managed in a more suitable way.

The transformation process of industrial waste such as pure glycerin in high added value oil and other subsequent processes are called bioconversion. Neol has validated on a pre-industrial scale the bioconversion process of Neoleum™ thus marking a turning point in the production of second generation biofuels.
