Onalabs Inno-Hub, the startup, a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, pioneer in the the development of medical devices capable of reading, measuring, and monitoring physical and biochemical physical and biochemical parameters of the skin through the sweat, has announced the successful completion of a capital increase of 1.8 million euros, thus multiplying its valuation by x2 in the short term of one year.

This new capital increase has allowed, among other things, the incorporation of Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB) as a shareholder, which participates as a strategic partner, contributing its main non-monetary assets and which will contribute to the national and international promotion of the company. The organisation, whose mission is to encourage and promote innovation in the field of sport, has chosen Onalabs to jointly develop the ONASPORT device, which will activate its presale campaign in the last quarter of this year.

ONASPORT is a portable monitoring solution in the form of a chest strap that continuously, remotely, and non-invasively measures lactate level, heart rate, electrolyte loss and dehydration through sweat in real time.

The monitoring of these parameters allows the optimisation of sports training and the achievement of greater muscular efficiency. With this collaboration, the BIHUB and Onalabs seek to improve this multisensor with the participation of the club's athletes and create a more advanced product capable of recording new biomarkers of internal load, thus contributing to the promotion of a new paradigm in physical training and injury prevention.

"We aim to become an international benchmark company in remote and non-invasive health parameter monitoring innovations, in order to bring impact value to different disciplines, including the sports sector. We are convinced that becoming a partner of the Barça Innovation Hub will allow us to form a disruptive alliance to strengthen our knowledge and leadership in this area, which will represent the beginning of great changes and new paradigms in sports training and health monitoring", says Elisabet del Valle, co-founder and CEO of Onalabs.

Onalabs is the third startup in which the BIHUB has invested. The BIHUB's investment in start-ups allows FC Barcelona to boost its innovation engine in an environment where start-ups can adapt technologies and solutions quickly and easily. On the other hand, the Club offers its main brand assets, its knowledge and experience, access to athletes and its facilities, thus opening the door to establish synergies with its collaborators and partners.
