This year’s d·HEALTH Barcelona program had to be postponed until 2022 due to the pandemic. But Biocat wanted to continue promoting entrepreneurial spirit and helping develop talent in the BioRegion by launching a new course: Ignite·Health Barcelona.

The new initiative is an intensive introduction to entrepreneurship and innovation that is specifically designed for professionals in the life sciences and healthcare sector, with the support of EIT Health. Using the methodology for the d·HEALTH program (biodesign) and knowledge of clinical needs identified in previous editions, participants will develop a business idea to find a viable solution in the fields of cardiology, pulmonology and Covid-19/Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

To do so, multidisciplinary teams will be put together and guided by a group of experts who will assess the solution proposed and the business model in personalized mentoring sessions. This training is complemented with masterclasses on entrepreneurship, product development, market access and more. The course also includes pitch training to help them prepare their presentations and entrepreneurs sharing their experience in setting up and growing their startups (small talks).

The program, with a hybrid format combining in person and virtual sessions, is geared towards healthcare professionals, students and researchers. Sessions will be held in the evenings so participants can combine the program with their studies or work. The program will last four months, from September 1 through December 16, 2021.

It costs €500 per person for all four months of training. Spots are limited to 30 participants and can be reserved here through August 27.
