In response to a high demand from our audience curious to know more about telomeres, their conservation and tips for slowing down the aging process, we would like to use this blog entry to comment on a variety of books that address these topics in a more extensive way and from different perspectives.

Additionally, for those wanting to take the next step and explore their own telomeres, the authors of these books are doctors with their own clinical practice and wide experience in the study and handling of telomere biology.

For those of you eager to learn even more about telomeres, we strongly encourage you to read any of the books listed below. If you happen to have read any of them already, we would be very pleased if you could leave a comment with your opinion.

  • The Immortality Edge: Realize the Secrets of Your Telomeres for a Longer, Healthier Life – Dr. Michael Fossel, Greta Blackburn & Dr. Dave Woynarowski, MD (2011)

This book is based on the Nobel Prize in Medicine-winning genetic research. The authors, all of them experts in genetics, telomeres and longevity, present a realistic life plan to increase the length of your life and your overall health by rejuvenating your cells and slowing down the telomere shortening process. The plan consists of a few steps that we all can easily include in our hectic daily life.

This is your book if the simple thought of aging gets you grey hairs and wrinkles. Dr. Park initiates you in telomere biology in an enjoyable and detailed way and he gives you tips for improving your quality of life and health. Also, the author focuses on telomerase and analyzes the effect of a food supplement that boosts this enzyme’s activity.

Dr. Bill Andrews has focused the last 20 years of his career on studying human aging. Besides explaining the science behind telomeres, in his book Andrews tells us about the foundations of human aging and reveals his discoveries at Sierra Sciences, a biotechnology company -of which he is CEO- with business focus on reversing the aging process through correct telomere maintenance.

  • Telomere Lengthening: Curing All Disease Including Aging and Cancer – Ph.D. Bill Andrews & Jon Cornell (2017)

This book is the follow-up to “Bill Andrews on Telomere Basics: Curing Aging”. In this book Dr. Andrews goes over the basics of telomere biology before going in depth in telomere lengthening as a potential cure for diseases and its potential for prolonging a healthy life indefinitely.

This book showcases the key to better health and increasing life naturally through diet, exercise and the correct food supplements, all based on epigenetic and telomere research.

Dr. Park addresses telomeres and cellular aging from a different perspective. He explores the idea that diseases and aging are a consequence of genetic errors resulting from telomere shortening.

In this book Dr. Park communicates cutting-edge science using illustrations and metaphors that everyone can relate to. He also teaches you how to intervene in your own aging process through methods that boost telomerase activity.
