Contributing to the achievement of some of the WHO's Available Development Goals (SDGs) and taking advantage of the fact that FAO has declared 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables ”, the students of the Degree in CYTA launch the second edition of“ Feeding there is no waste ”with the motto“ Fruits and vegetables, everything to gain and nothing to lose ”.

"The main objective of this project is to raise awareness and train citizens about food waste" they point out to us from the Degree. To do this, they will offer information on the properties and benefits of this type of food, adding tips to reduce waste. They also tell us that this way "they will improve environmental results, promoting responsible and sustainable consumption of these products."

In this edition, six students of the last year of the Degree in Food Science and Technology will participate, supervised by four teachers of the same. In addition, this project has been accepted for implementation by the URJC's ApS office, which combines learning content, skills and values and service to the community, in order to offer a service to society, to transform and improve it.

With "Eating there is no waste: Fruits and vegetables, everything to gain and nothing to lose" and the collaboration with GAP Spain, the FACT! (Food and Actión!), Which "helps people and organizations to improve their eating habits in relation to the environment and health" point out from the Degree. In addition, they will participate in the Activate + / ReActívate + 2021 Program and in the theoretical-practical workshops of the Fuenlabrada City Council.

Due to the pandemic situation in which we find ourselves, this edition will be carried out, to a large extent, through the online format.
