Bringing science and business together to help create a bioentrepreneurial ecosystem: this is the aim of Health & Bio Team Dating, an event that took place on 3 December that allowed scientists and managers to meet in brief partnering meetings to create teams that will allow them to start up a successfully new company.
The initiative is organized by Banc Sabadell along with Biocat, CataloniaBio and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, and is geared towards two main profiles. On one hand, researchers with a scientific project in the life sciences (therapeutics, diagnostics, prevention, medical technology, digital health, etc.) that could become a company but need someone to take care of the business plan and fundraising.
The other main profile the initiative targets is managers: professionals with business experience who are motivated to bring new technology to market, or MBA students without experience but who have entrepreneurial spirit and are interested in growing early-stage projects.
Following the speed-dating model, participants had 30 minutes for each meeting to present their project and experience to their potential partner.
