Biointaxisis hosting a webinar titled “Get to Know Biointaxis and How to Invest in FRATAXAV® Gene Therapy to Cure Friedreich’s Ataxia” on 12 November at 5:00 pm.

Biointaxis, an academic spin-off from the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) founded in 2018, is developing the first drug designed to prevent and reverse the neurological and cardiac effects of Friedreich’s ataxia, based on ataxia research by an internationally recognised team led by Dr Antoni Matilla.

Friedreich’s ataxia is a rare, severe hereditary neurodegenerative disease with no effective treatment currently available. It is marked by progressive ataxia affecting gait, limbs and torso, speech disorders (dysarthria), cardiomyopathy, diabetes and loss of sensation and reflexes. Most patients become confined to a wheelchair by age 25.

The goal is to initiate Phase I clinical trials following FRATAXAV®’s outstanding preclinical results.

A crowdfunding campaign is now live on the Capital Cell platform: https://capitalcell.com/campaign/biointaxis-2024/. To date, over 60% of the required funds have already been secured.

Aimed at
