Gisela Sugranyes, awarded by the European Society of Psychiatry

Gisela Sugranyes, head of the research group on Multimodal neuroimaging in high risk and early psychosis at IDIBAPS, psychiatrist at Hospital Clinic and researcher of CIBERSAM, has received a “Research Award” by the European Society of Psychiatry (EPA) in the category of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has received the award for her study entitled “Clinical, Cognitive, and Neuroimaging Evidence of a Neurodevelopmental Continuum in Offspring of Probands With Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder” and published in the journal Schizophrenia Bulletin.

The EPA focuses on improving care for people with mental illnesses, as well as promoting the professional excellence in Psychiatry. In this sense, the EPA awards annual prizes to Early Career Psychiatrists who work in Europe and who have published the best scientific articles in the year. The other four psychiatrists awarded in 2018 by the EPA have been: Ian Kelleher, from Ireland; Anya Topiwala, from the United Kingdom; Gustaf Brander, from Switzerland; and Gaia Sampogna, from Italy.
