Last week, IDIBAPS hosted the annual scientific meeting of the European Inter-Group for Childhood Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (EICNHL). The event brought together clinicians, researchers and experts in pathological anatomy to present and discuss the latest advances in clinical and translational research on paediatric non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. Participants in the meeting also addressed the launch of new international research projects in the field.

A gathering of experts from all over the world, the annual EICNHL meeting changes location each year. This time it was organised by the Non-Hodgkin lymphoma working group of the Spanish Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (SEHOP), coordinated in part by Itziar Salaverria, the head of the IDIBAPS research group Molecular genetics of paediatric lymphomas and Olga Balagué, a haematopathologist at Hospital Clínic Barcelona. And It has recived the AECC support. These meetings offer professionals in the field an opportunity to share their knowledge and promote international collaboration in the fight against this disease.

European Inter-Group for Childhood Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

The European Inter-Group for Childhood Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a cooperative network created to enhance collaboration among groups studying and treating non-Hodgkin lymphoma in children, adolescents and young adults.

One of its main goals is to advance research by developing comprehensive programmes and multicentre clinical trials for children with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. EICNHL also promotes basic and translational research, essential for understanding the underlying mechanisms of the disease and discovering new therapeutic approaches.

In addition to its research initiatives, the group also participates in outreach programmes designed to support research and treatment efforts in developing countries, ensuring that advances in care are made accessible to the wider global community.
