IRBLleida awarded 10 new grants to promote health research

The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) Foundation Dr. Pifarré, supported by the Delegation of Lleida, has awarded scholarships for the fourth consecutive year to promote health research. In total, ten were awarded grants divided into three categories. New this year is the addition of a third mode.

In previous editions of the program, the call consisted of two types: A form of grants, aimed at postresidents who finished the stage of specialization (medicine, nursing, physiotherapy and pediatrics) in some health centers in Lleida ( University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Lleida, University Hospital of Santa Maria or Teaching Unit of Family and Community Medicine of Lleida) in 2015, and grants the mode B, for specialists in surgery, cardiology or similar, to support the Centre Experimental Applied Biomedical Research (CREB) of Torrelameu. 2016 has joined the category C, grants for graduate students in health sciences that are depleted predoctoral scholarship granted by a government agency and enrolled in the doctoral program in health at the University of Lleida (UDL ). Four grants were awarded in the category A, two B and aid in the form four aid in the form C.

This initiative is designed to stimulate translational research among professionals. The program is the fourth edition of the joint initiative between the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Lleida), the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) and the Diputación de Lleida to stimulate innovative research projects in IRBLleida in which required the addition of trained professionals in various medical specialties.

Contracts for promoting research are € 20,000 per annum compatible with other labor contracts within the healthcare network, provided they are part-time contracts and / or agreements guards. Researchers obtain aid shall submit a report tracking tasks and exposure results in a public ceremony. Soon, there will be the presentation of results awardees of 2015.
