March 24th 2014 - Neuron Bioservices has developed a method to assay neurite outgrowth with differentiated neuronal cells to study neuroplasticity.

The nervous system is an intricate network of neurons, whose correct functioning depends mainly on the proper development of its neuron-to-neuron connections. Therefore, the formation of a neuronal circuitry that works perfectly relies on the correct evolution of the neurite outgrowth process. This complex process includes neurite formation (sprouting), elongation and functional maturation of the newly formed connections. Neurotrophic factors are essential for neuronal survival and play an important role in neuronal growth, differentiation and plasticity.

This new service allows its clients to identify new drugs and ingredients with better effects than those generated by known neurotrophic factors. This new compounds would be able to face neuronal disorders and to improve learning and memory processes.
