Flomics Biotech, a startup from the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and member of the Barcelona Health Hub (BHH) was selected among the most disruptive and innovative startups in the Health & Wellbeing industry to pitch next Tuesday February 23rd at Virtual South Summit.

Flomics is developing a multi-purpose liquid biopsy, dynamic and capable of detecting multiple complex diseases even before the first symptoms appear. They are currently collaborating with hospitals from all around the globe in fighting some of the biggest health challenges. Their technology combines optimized plasma cell-free RNA (cfRNA) profiling with state-of-the-art machine learning data analysis implemented in the cloud to detect warning signs in an accurate, fast and minimally invasive way, everything out of a simple blood sample.

During the last year they also launched a cloud-based Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platform for fast and automated analysis of COVID-19 samples data. It takes raw data and automatically performs quality control, variant calling, virus strain identification and interpretation, everything on the cloud and without the need to learn bioinformatics.
