Biocat is inviting the Catalan healthcare and life sciences sector to the presentation of CRAASH Barcelona, the new initiative that will bring research of excellence to market, with top experts from the Boston ecosystem. The event will take place on the morning of 14 February at the Mobile World Centre in Barcelona. To attend, please register ahead of time.

CRAASH Barcelona is a 12-week program that helps European research teams launch successful device, diagnostic and e-/digital health innovations to improve health and patient care.

Teams move research to market through mentoring from experts at CIMIT (Boston), the most experienced health accelerator in the world. In 15 years, CIMIT has successfully accelerated over 600 healthtech projects, doubled the rate of successful commercialization and cut the time to next phase by more than half. CRAASH Barcelona teams validate their problem-solution and solution-market fit in some of the top healthcare ecosystems in US (Boston) and Europe (Barcelona, Paris, Delft).

CRAASH Barcelona is an EIT Health bootcamp and it is organized by Biocat in collaboration with CIMIT. It is one of the flagship programs of Moebio, Biocat’s disruptive talent-development initiative, which also includes d·HEALTH Barcelona.

The presentation of CRAASH Barcelona will feature representatives from the Boston ecosystem, the European consortium EIT Health and the BioRegion of Catalonia.

The event will be kicked off by Albert Barberà, president of the Biocat Delegate Commission. The program will then be presented by Raquel Riera, who will also answer any questions that may arise. John Collins will share the experience of Boston's prestigious accelerator, and a representative from EIT Health will introduce this European consortium. Finally, David Elvira will bring the event to a close.

Call of projects: February 12

On February 12, the website will go live and we will begin accepting applications. Subscribe to the Biocat distribution list to make sure you don’t miss this or any other call.

CRAASH Barcelona is looking for top-notch healthtech technology (diagnostic, devices, and e-/digital health - drug discovery and drug development are not included), emerging from research centers, research institutes and universities in the BioRegion of Catalonia and other European ecosystems.

CRAASH Barcelona supports research projects with a TRL 3-4 (proof of concept / proof of feasibility). Established companies can also apply if they are looking for an application in healthcare for their technology and/or searching/validating their business model.

Register now to attend the presentation of CRAASH Barcelona.
